Financing

The main financiers are Tekes – the Finnish Funding Agency for Technology, the Ministry of Employment and the Economy, the Ministry of Transport and Communications with its agencies and VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland.

TransEco does not have a reserve of its own, and thus TransEco does not sponsor projects directly. The individual projects, based on recommendations and guidelines from the management group, apply for funding from various sources. The task of the management group is to ensure that the proposed projects are relevant, and that sufficient funding can be secured.

The total annual budget of the research projects within TransEco is in the order of 3 - 4 M€. On top of this there are associated projects and demonstration projects, which add to the total budget.
